Land and land improvements are considered real property while mobile property is classified as personal property.A few South Dakota County Assessor offices offer an online searchable database, where assessment record searches can be performed by tax identification number or owner name. Some counties may require registration for access to the online system. Where online access is not available, requests for property records can be made in person, by phone, or in writing.
