The Alabama Department of Public Health maintains and issues certified copies of birth records through the Alabama Center for Health Statistics. Birth certificates can be ordered via mail, in person, or online.Each of Alabama's 67 counties also has a Department of Health where vital records requests can be made. Birth records are available for immediate family members and anyone showing just cause for obtaining the record. Public access is available to Birth records wihch 25 years or older.
