Birth records are only available to the registrant, immediate relatives, or those with documented personal financial or legal interests in the record.Birth records are available from the IDSH from 1907 to present. Birth records prior to 1907 must be obtained through the county health department. Requests for death records can be made online, by fax, by phone, by mail, or in person.
