The Kentucky Secretary of State Business Services Division is responsible for all business filings, including corporations, limited liability companies, and trademarks. An online search is available where searches can be performed to obtain business records, including information about the business status, registered agent and address, initial directors, current officers, date of incorporation, address of principal office, activity history for the business and any assumed names. Searches can be performed by business name.All business records and documents managed by the Secretary of State from September 15, 2004 to present are available to be viewed online. Requests for records prior to September 15, 2004 can be made directly with the Secretary of State.The Division of Occupations and Professions manages professional licensing through various professional boards. An online search is available where searches are performed by board type, name, license number, or social security number. The Board of Medical Licensure manages the licensing of health care professionals such as physicians, surgeons, and athletic trainers. Searches can be performed by profession, name, license number, practice county, and specialty. Attorney licensing is managed by the Kentucky Bar Association. An online search of attorney licenses can be perfomed by first and last name, city, county, and type of law practiced.
