Deeds and other document recording are managed by the County Clerk in each county. Some counties with larger clerk offices have a separate office, generally called the Recorder or Registrar of Deeds. Recorded documents include deeds, mortgage documents, easements, powers of attorney, marriage licenses, and liens.A few counties provide online access to recorded documents. Some online access sites require registration and the payment of a fee. Recorded documents can also be obtained by contacting the County Clerk in person, by mail, or by phone.
