Deeds, mortgage documents, easements, liens and other document recordings are managed by the Clerk of Court in each Louisiana Parish. Some offices may have separate divisions, such as a Mortgage Department for the issuance of mortgage documents. A few parishes provide online access to certain recorded documents, although registration may be required. For counties that are not online, recorded documents area available by contacting the Clerk of Court in person, by phone, or by mail.
