Marriage records in Louisiana are the responsibility of the Louisiana Vital Records Registry, a division of the Office of Public Health. Marriage records for marriages that occurred in the Orleans Parish from 1957 to present are available form the Louisiana Vital Records Registry. Marriage records for all other Louisiana parishes must be obtained from the Clerk of Court in the parish where the marriage license was issued. Orleans Parish marriage records can be ordered by mail, by internet, by fax, or phone. Divorce records must also be obtained from the Clerk of Court in the Parish where the divorce was finalized.
