Maryland marriage records are managed by the Vital Statistics Administration, a division of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Marriage records can be obtained by the bride, groom, or a representative. Marriage records are available from the Vital Statistics Administration from January 1, 1990 to present. Marriage records prior to January 1, 1990 can be obtained from the Circuit Court in the county where the marriage occurred.Vital records request through the Vital Statistics Administration can be made in person, by mail, by phone, or online. Circuit Courts offer a records search through the Maryland Judiciary. Records can also be obtained by contacting the Clerk of Circuit Court by phone, mail, or in person.
