Marriage records are managed by the Mississippi Department of Health, Vital Records Office. In Mississippi, vital records are not public records, and therefore can only be accessed by those showing a tangible interest, including the registrant, relatives, adoption agencies, and legal representatives.Marriage records are available from January 1, 1926 to present either through the Vital Records Offices, or through the Circuit Court Clerk in the county where the marriage occurred. Marriage records from July 1, 1938 to December 31, 1941 are available only through the Circuit Court Clerk in the county where the marriage occurred. Vital records can be obtained in person or by mail. Photo identification is required to demonstrate a tangible interest.
