The Ohio Department of Health, Vital Statistics Office manages abstracts of marriage records.Marriage abstracts are available from January 1, 1954 to present from the Office of Vital Statistics in person, by mail, or online. Full copies of marriage records must be obtained from the county Probate Court in the county where the marriage license was issued.

Marriage and Divorce Records

View information about obtaining Ohio marriage and divorce records. Abstracts are available for marriages that occurred in Ohio from January 1, 1950 to present and divorces that occurred in Ohio from January 1, 1954 to present. Full copies of marriage records must be obtained from the Probate Court in the county where the marriage license was issued. Full divorce records are available from the Clerk of Court in the county where the divorce was finalized.
