West Virginia marriage records are managed by the Health Statistics Center. Marriage records are available from 1964 to present and may be obtained by the husband or wife, adult children, adult grandchildren, those with a direct and tangible legal interest in the record, or a legal representative of the authorized parties. Marriage records prior to 1964 can be obtained from the County Clerk's office in the county where the marriage license was issued. Vital records requests from the Health Statistics Center are available by mail or in person.
