Washington Birth Records Search
Birth Certificates are handled by the County Health departments in each county. Death certificates may also be listed in document indexes in the Auditors Office. Records may also be available at the state level depending on the time frame of the record needed. Birth certificates are not public records in Washington; this means that the person making the request must be a member of the immediate family to receive the record. Obtaining a birth certificate requires the following information: the state, city and county where the birth occurred, the name as it appears on the certificate, the full date of birth, and the legal name of the parents identified on the birth certificate, including the mother's maiden name.
