The New Jersey Secretary of State Business Center is responsible for business and corporate records. Corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, and nonprofit corporations all file documents through the Secretary of State. An online searchable database is available, whereby business record searches can be performed by business name. Records available include Certificates of Good Standing, articles of incorporation, and other business documents.Many professions in New Jersey are regulated by a specific board related to that profession. The Office of the Attorney General, Division of Consumer Affairs, through its Professional and Occupational Boards, is responsible for over 80 professions in New Jersey. An online database is available whereby license searches can be performed by name and profession. The New Jersey Secretary of State also provides online access to search for all professionals licensed through their various boards. Searches for professional licenses include accountants, architects, dentists, doctors, lawyers, engineers, and dozens of other professions.
