The Vermont Secretary of State Business Services Division is responsible for business and corporate records. Corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, and other business entities all file documents through the Secretary of State. An online searchable database is available whereby business record searches can be performed by business name.Professional licenses in Vermont are generally regulated by a board which governs the particular profession. The Vermont Secretary of State, Office of Professional Regulation provides online access to dozens of professional licensing boards, including architects, dentists, nurses and psychologists. Licensing records for physicians can be found through the Department of Health, Board of Medical Practice. Attorney licensing is managed by the Vermont Bar Association and Vermont Judiciary. Requests for attorney licensing records can be made to the Vermont Judiciary in person, by phone, by mail, or by fax.
