West Virginia death records are managed by the Health Statistics Center. Death records may only be obtained by the next of kin, or those with a legal right to the record. Marriage records are available from 1964 to present and may be obtained by the husband or wife, adult children, adult grandchildren, those with a direct and tangible legal interest in the record, or a legal representative of the authorized parties.
