The Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Public Health manages marriage records for the entire state.Marriage records are available to the general public. The Division of Public Health manages marriage records from 1952 to 1996. Copies of marriage records before 1952 and after 1996 can be obtained from the Probate Court where the marriage occurred. Although an index of divorce records is available through the Division of Public Health, actual divorce records must be obtained from the Clerk of the Superior Court in the county where the divorce was finalized.Requests for marriage records from the Division of Public Health must be made in person or via mail. Online request forms are available from the Division of Public Health for marriage records.
