Colorado birth records are available for the years 1910 to present. Death records for the entire state are available for the years 1900 to present. Certified copies may be issued to: parents; grandparents; stepparents; siblings; spouse; adult children, stepchildren or grandchildren of the deceased; legal representatives of any of the above; legal representatives of the deceased; probate researchers; genealogists representing family members with appropriate credentials; others who may demonstrate a direct and tangible interest when information is needed for determination or protection of a personal property right.Marriage records for the entire state are available from the Department of Health from 1900 to 1939, and 1975 to present. Records from 1940 to 1974 can be obtained from the County Clerk and Recorder Office in the county where the license was obtained. Divorce records are available from 1851 to 1939 and 1968 to present. Divorce records for 1940 to 1967 are available from the District Court Clerk in the county where the divorce was finalized.Vital records can be obtained by the registrant, immediate family members, legal representatives, and people who can show a direct interest in the record can request a copy. Vital Records can be ordered by mail, fax, online, or in person. Valid proof of identification must be submitted with a vital records request.
