In Colorado, Marriage Records are the responsibility of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Marriage records for the entire state are available from the Department of Health from 1900 to 1939, and 1975 to present. Records from 1940 to 1974 can be obtained from the County Clerk and Recorder Office in the county where the license was obtained. Vital records can be obtained by the registrant, immediate family members, legal representatives, and people who can show a direct interest in the record can request a copy. Vital Records can be ordered by mail, fax, online, or in person. Valid proof of identification must be submitted with a vital records request.
